Most review meetings fail because they combine status updates and decision making in the same room.
A better structure
Run two loops:
- Tactical review (weekly): blockers, sequencing, owners.
- Strategic review (biweekly): direction, tradeoffs, bets.
Guardrails
- Decisions must end with owner + date.
- Open questions are tracked separately.
- No demo without user impact context.
Cadence beats intensity. Small, regular reviews create better products than occasional large rituals.
